Safari of Ercole, Lucia and family

Bottswana!

Three adjectives for Your Journey :

Exciting, wonderful, unforgettable.

The biggest thrill :

The call of a male lion at night. It was so loud, enhanced by the absolute silence, that it felt like the lion was under the bed. Actually the next morning we found fresh tracks all around our tents.

A special sighting :

A herd of elephants at night: spending time with these grey giants, watching them appearing and disappearing in the darkness a few meters away from our jeeps, has been truly special.

A breathtaking view :

The flat horizon, the maze of channels and lagoons, the palm-dotted islands and the light reflections on the water of the Okavango Delta seen from the plane.

The greatest teaching :

Listen to nature.

A fear that you passed :

The women of the family were, and still are, afraid of insects and snakes. Men feared that after the safari their wives would have filed for divorce!

A small thing :

A four weeks old lion cub. At first he was hiding inside a tree log and we could barely see him, then it came out and started investigating us from behind the bush.

Your guide :

We traveled with a private guide: Michael, simply perfect.

One thing I do again :

Fishing and swimming with our children in the clear waters of the Okavango Delta. Just like that, quite simply, as we were at the beach in Italy, while actually we were standing in one of the wildest and most remote places on earth.

Field favorite and why :

Sable Alley because it felt like being on safari in the old times.

Africa : before and after the trip :

We got the Africa bug even before traveling, you can imagine how we felt afterwards.
