In a large valley inside the NamibRand Nature Reserve, a private reserve of 2,000 km² bordering with the Namib Desert, 75 km South-East of Sossusvlei.

Oryx and springbok are the most common species of antelope, but the reserve also hosts kudus, zebras, brown and spotted hyenas, jackals and bat-eared foxes. More than 170 bird species, including the dune lark, the only true endemic species of Namibia.
