Wildlife

The reserve is renowned for carnivores, among them cheetahs, leopards, spotted hyenas and African wild dogs, but also for nocturnal animals such as porcupines and honey badgers.

Why

The ideal location, half way between Windhoek and the Etosha National Park. Cheetahs and leopards, difficult to spot elsewhere, are a common sight here. The hide is usually visited by porcupines and honey badgers. Okonjima is the headquarters of Africat Foundation, committed to the conservation of big carnivores in Namibia.
