Pelican Point Lodge

The coast

The lodge stands right next to an old lighthouse, inside a harbour building of the 1930s renovated and designed in contemporary style.

Position

At the end of the Pelican Point peninsula, a strip of sand surrounded by Walvis Bay salt pans, about 30 km from the town.

9 individually designed suites, among them the fully windowed Captain’s Cove Suite offering an amazing 360 degrees view.

Activities

Kayak and boat excursions in the bay, quad biking on the dunes and excursion in 4×4 vehicles to the Sandwich Harbour lagoon. Scenic flights in small planes and hot-air balloons, parachuting, surfing and fishing. Visit to Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.

Wildlife

In the bay it’s possible to see dolphins, whales, cape fur seals and many species of water bird, including pelicans and flamingos, while in the desert springboks and jackals can be encountered.

Why

The unique and totally secluded location. The fascinating atmosphere created by the old lighthouse and by the fog thickening on the coast. Pelican Point and its beaches populated by cape fur seals, to also explore on foot. The numerous activities, especially kayaking in the bay and the excursions in 4×4 vehicles to Sandwich Harbour.
