High on a ridge overlooking lakes Bulera and Ruhondo, about 45 minutes from the entrance to the Volcanoes National Park.

Activities

Gorilla trekking, golden monkey trekking, visit to Dian Fossey’s research camp and grave, hiking to Lake Bulera and climbing a volcano, visits to the local school and community projects.

Wildlife

The park’s forests are home to over 70 mammal species including mountain gorilla and another rare primate specie: the golden monkeys. Here forest elephant, buffalo, bushbuck, black-fronted duiker and spotted hyena can also be observed. About 180 bird species, with a number of endemic ones, have been identified in the park.
