Canoeing on the Selinda Spillway

An authentic canoe expedition in the remote Selinda Reserve, zigzagging among water lilies, hippos and elephants, with overnight stay in small dome tents.
Where

On the Selinda Spillway, a channel that connects the Okavango Delta to the Linyanti and flows inside the Selinda Reserve, with an area of almost 1,300 km2.

Itinerary

4 days and about 40 km of canoe navigation, interspersed with walking safaris, in groups of maximum 8 people.

Accommodation

The light mobile camp is equipped with canvas “kodiak” tents with shared long drop bathroom and bucket shower.

Wildlife

The reserve is home to large herds of elephants and buffalo, as well as giraffes, zebras and numerous species of antelope including the rare roan antelope. Among the predators it is possible to observe lions, leopards, cheetah and packs of African wild dogs. Channels and lagoons are the habitats of hippo, crocodiles and dozens of aquatic bird species.
