Maasai Mara Conservancies

An intimate and personal camp, which combines quality, elegance and respect for the environment. Under the same ownership is also the smaller Mara Nyika.

Position

On the banks of the Ntiakitiak River inside the Olare Motorogi Conservancy, spreading over an area of 140 km2, at the northern border of the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Rooms

7 canvas tents raised on wooden decks with private veranda and en-suite bathroom. Each tent is equipped with a Canon camera with professional lenses and Swarovski binoculars.

Activities

Day and night game drives in 4×4 open vehicles and walking safaris in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy. Game drives in 4×4 open vehicles in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Scenic flights in hot-air balloons. Visit to the nearby Maasai village.

Wildlife

The concession hosts the typical wildlife of Maasai Mara, including all of the “Big Five” and many species of antelope. It’s renowned for the concentration of big cats, including lions, leopards and cheetahs. Wildebeests, zebras and Thomson’s gazelles are present throughout the year, but more numerous when the “Great Migration” reaches the Maasai Mara.

Why

An old style camp with a romantic charm, furnished with colonial, Arab and Maasai influences. Built with no cement and raised off the ground, it is also one of the “greenest” camps in Africa.
