Zimbabwe

When to go

Zimbabwe has a subtropical climate with long hot summers and cooler winters, when temperatures at night can fall considerably. The best time for a safari in Zimbabwe is the dry and cold winter between June and October, when wildlife congregates around waterholes and vegetation is sparse, thus making sightings easier. The green season, running from November to May, is less favourable in terms of climate and game viewing. Nonetheless during this time of the year landscapes are luxuriant and many herbivores give birth to their young. This is a general indication, supposing this is your first safari in Zimbabwe and that your priority is game viewing. Every season has its charm though, colours and nuances that make it unique and offers the opportunity of different encounters and experiences.
