Mvuu Lodge

Liwonde National Park

An elegant tented lodge on the banks of a lagoon populated by hippo on the western side of the park. Under the same ownership the simpler Mvuu Camp.

On the banks of a lagoon formed by the Shire River, in the western part of Liwonde National Park.

Rooms

8 tented chalets with en-suite bathroom and private veranda. Facilities include a swimming pool.

Activities

Day and night game drives in 4×4 open vehicle, boat and walking safaris, visits to local schools and villages.

Wildlife

The park hosts a variety of wildlife including elephant, hippo, crocodile, several antelope species and, among predators, small numbers of lion and leopard. Some black rhino have been recently introduced in a fenced sanctuary. More than 400 bird species have been identified in the park.
