On the banks of the Victoria Nile, about 20 km downstream from Murchison Falls, inside the namesake national park.

The park hosts 451 bird species and 76 species of mammals such as elephant, buffalo and giraffe. The river is home to hippo, crocodiles and several fish species, including the huge Nile perch.
