Semliki Safari Lodge

Semliki Wildlife Reserve

The only lodge in a 500 km² area, it is an intimate and exclusive lodge allowing to explore the namesake reserve in the western Rift Valley.

Position

On a hill within a lush garden in the Semliki Wildlife Reserve.

Rooms

8 tents with thatched roof raised on wooden decks, each with en-suite bathroom and private veranda. Facilities include a swimming pool.

Activities

Day and night game drives in 4×4 open vehicles, walking safaris,  chimpanzee tracking, boat excursions on Lake Albert and visits to the local communities.

Wildlife

The reserve is home to both forests and savannah elephant, buffalo, several antelope species, hippo, chimpanzee and leopard. About 440 species of birds, including the rare shoebill, have been identified in the reserve.

Why

A traditionally styled lodge that offers a truly private and authentic experience. The lodge works with the Indiana University, running researches on chimpanzees and the origin of man. The Semliki Wildlife Reserve is the oldest protected area in Uganda. Chimpanzee tracking and boat excursions on Lake Albert to spot the shoebill are must-do activities.
