Kenya has a tropical climate, basically hot and humid, but the altitude and the monsoons blowing from the Indian Ocean determine varying conditions throughout the year. Generally, the climate is milder and variable inland, while along the coast it’s hot and humid all year round. The best times for a safari in Kenya are between June and October and from December to March, during the dry season, when sightings are easier and more numerous because wildlife gathers around waterholes and the vegetation is sparse. The green season, especially in April and May, is less favourable in terms of climate and game viewing. This is a general indication, supposing this is your first safari in Kenya and that your priority is game viewing. Every season has its charm though, colours and nuances that make it unique and offers the opportunity of different encounters and experiences.
