Chitabe Camp

Okavango Delta

A classic of the Okavango, it is a land-based tented camp in one of the best game viewing areas. Under the same ownership is the smaller Chitabe Lediba.

Position

On an island in the south-eastern part of the Okavango Delta, inside the Chitabe Concession, spreading over an area of 280 km2.

Rooms

8 “Meru” style tents raised on wooden decks with en-suite bathroom. Facilities include a swimming pool and a gym.

Activities

Day and night game drives in 4×4 open vehicles and walking safaris.

Wildlife

Several species of herbivores, among them elephants, buffalo, giraffes and zebras. Great predators include leopards and African wild dogs, both protagonists in the area, but also lions, cheetahs and spotted hyenas. More than 340 bird species, mainly water birds.

Why

The tents are spacious and original, all individually designed. The Chitabe Concession: a unique area renowned for its diverse habitats and the concentration of wildlife, especially predators. Activities such as night game drives and walking safaris are allowed only inside private concessions.
