Mara Expedition Camp

Maasai Mara National Reserve

The little twin of Mara Plains Camp, it is a colonial adventure camp built in the spirit of “mobility”.

Position

On the banks of the Ntiakitiak River in the north-central section of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, bordering the Mara North Conservancy.

Rooms

5 canvas tents raised on wooden decks with private veranda and en-suite bathroom.

Activities

Game drives in 4×4 open vehicles in the reserve, scenic flights in hot-air balloons and visit to the nearby Maasai village.

Wildlife

The reserve hosts all of the “Big Five” and many species of antelope. It’s renowned for the concentration of big cats, including lions, leopards and cheetahs. Wildebeests, zebras and Thomson’s gazelles are present throughout the year, but more numerous when the “Great Migration” reaches the Maasai Mara.

Why

A “green” camp, small and intimate, with an eclectic style and the charm of the first explorers age. The location in a key area of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, prime leopard territory and ideal to witness the great wildebeest migration. The camp has access also to the more private Mara North Conservancy.
