Meru National Park

Romantic and elegant, it is the only lodge in the park and has contributed significantly to its conservation.

Position

On top of the Mughwango Hill, a granite hill in the heart of Meru National Park.

Rooms

7 elegant “open-fronted” cottages, among them one for families, and 3 suites for honeymooners, that all have large veranda and en-suite bathroom. Facilities include a private villa and a swimming pool.

Activities

Day and night game drives in 4×4 open vehicles, walking safaris and visit to the local Tharaka village.

Wildlife

The park hosts large herds of elephants, buffalo, reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras and, among antelopes, lesser kudu and gerenuk. There are also lions, leopards, cheetahs and caracals. A population of over 70 white and black rhinos is protected within a sanctuary. Identified bird species are over 400.
