Machaba Camp

Okavango Delta

A classic tented camp in 1950s style in the Khwai concession, at the east end of the Okavango Delta. Under the same ownership is Little Machaba, with only 4 tents.

Position

On the shores of the Khwai River, inside the Khwai concession, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve.

Rooms

10 spacious tents, among them two for families, that all have private veranda, living area and en-suite bathroom. Facilities include a swimming pool.

Activities

Day and night game drives in 4×4 open vehicles, walking safaris and mokoro trips, visit to the local villages.

Wildlife

The area is renowned for the concentration of predators, among them lions, leopards, cheetahs and packs of African wild dogs. There are also elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras together with water species such as crocodiles, hippos and red lechwe, as well as 450 bird species.

Why

The intimate atmosphere of the camp and its secluded location bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. The Khwai concession: a unique environment inhabited by terrestrial and aquatic species, to explore on land and on water, day and night. One of the best areas of the delta to spot predators, especially leopards and African wild dogs.
